Prairie Bloom Floral Tooled Leather Wallet

Prairie Bloom is the most heavily carved wallet in the collection. Wildflowers, open blooms and long curling leaves cover the whole outside, with a stippled background that pushes every petal forward. A run of turquoise saddle stitching borders the design, a bright line against the honey-gold leather.

The pattern is drawn by hand and carved in the classic western floral style: swivel-knife cuts first, then beveling and backgrounding to give each flower its depth.

How it is made

The wallet is sewn with a traditional saddle stitch: two needles pass through every hole with waxed thread, so each stitch locks on its own. If a thread is ever worn or cut, the seam holds instead of unravelling the way a machine stitch would.
